Jerry Tirozzi and David Sousa will speak at the first Principals' Partnership Summer Institute at Lincolnshire, Illinois, July 15-18, 2002. Dr. Tirozzi, the Executive Director of the National Association of Secondary Principals, has served as a teacher, principal, superintendent, Commissioner of Education in Connecticut, President of Wheelock College, and Assistant Secretary of Education in the U.S. Department of Education. A well-known advocate for high school principals and their central role in school reform, Jerry will speak on the challenges facing principals at the outset of the 21st Century.

David Sousa is an international educational consultant and author of How the Brain Learns, and How the Special Needs Brain Learns. He has conducted workshops on brain research, instructional skills and science education in hundreds of schools in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia at the elementary, secondary and university levels. A past president of the National Staff Development Council, he has received recognitions and awards from professional organizations, school districts and his undergraduate college for his commitment to research, staff development and science education. He will address how school leaders and their staff can improve teaching and learning by making their schools brain compatible.
