Ties to Higher Education

Seeking unity in purpose. (Breaking Ranks)

Breaking Ranks says "the fortunes of secondary education and higher education are inextricably linked and institutions on both levels must cooperate in all ways for the mutual benefits of students." The resources listed here can help principals forge these important relationships in their own schools.

National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. This site offers links to specific descriptions of concurrent enrollment programs throughout the nation.

College Board. This venerable organization not only manages the SATs, it also provides a rich resource on college planning and innovative preparation programs for students. It even helps parents figure out where to find resources for college.

US Department of Education. The US Department has dozens of resources for schools, students and their parents on preparing and paying for college. From the home page, scroll down to "Audiences" and click on Parents and Families. Also, check out the resources under "Financial Aid" for help in paying for college. For the best information, start with the Think College homepage.
