| Senior Partner Program Announced Veteran principals of The Principals Partnership received a welcomed surprise at the Summer Institute in San Antonio when Union Pacific announced it is creating a Senior Partners Program for graduates of the first three years’ core program. “In keeping with our recognition of the essential leadership role principals provide in today’s high schools, we want to continue to offer them the very best in professional development,” said Bob Turner, president, Union Pacific Foundation. “Thus, we are extending the life of The Partnership for those principals who have completed three years.” Any principal who has been involved in The Partnership for three years is eligible to join the voluntary Senior Partners Program, and will receive many of the same professional development benefits plus can choose to become involved in new leadership activities in The Partnership. Senior Partners will receive: • Regional professional events •A personal consulting team •Research assistance •Networking •Professional recognition •An invitation to attend the Summer Institute every other year. Additionally, Senior Partners will be able to participate, if they choose, in an Executive Resource Bank to provide assistance to those in the regular Principals Partnership. “We are enthusiastic about inviting the 131 graduates of the first three years into the Senior Partners,” said Jim Hoffmann, executive director, Principals Partnership. “While we have outlined a structure for the program, we will continue to focus on providing a program for principals that has been designed by principals. Thus, we’ll seek input from Senior Partners this fall as to how we can best continue to meet their professional development needs.” For more information about the Senior Partners program, view the Frequently Asked Questions for Senior Partners document on the web site or ask your consultant team.
